We planned, wrote and assembled this publication with fellow European students in mind, taking in to account what it is like to grow up as a linguistic minority within the EU; the values put on preserving heritage, language and traditions; the advantages and/or disadvantages when it comes to being born into speaking and ethnic language and perhaps forcing the students to become bilingual to better gain work and education within the union? We raised a vast array of issues and subjects concerning the Irish students of Transition Year, Gaelcholáiste na Mara, challenging their critical thinking, pinpointing the changes they would like to see happen to strengthen their position in Europe.
